Church presents Crafting by the Sea
The Crafters & Quilters of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church will present Crafting by the Sea. It will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Banquet Hall at Highway 17 and 8th Avenue North in North Myrtle Beach. The sale will be held on Friday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be a variety of Christmas and other handcrafted gifts. Many are made from wood, floral, knitted, sewing, crochet and lovely quilted items. They have Christmas past, jewelry past and religious tables. Eat in or take out foods will be available such as hamburgers, hot dogs and homemade soups along with homemade frozen cabbage rolls and a variety of pie rogi’s. Admission is free.

Homecoming and Community Day
New Life Community Baptist Chapel, formerly Wayside Baptist Church, at 407 Red Bluff Road in Loris will be having Homecoming and Community Day on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. Former pastor, the Rev. Reece Housand, will bring the morning message. All are welcome and invited to attend.

Trunk or Treat will be hosted by church
Join them at Today’s Harvest Church on Friday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. for Trunk or Treat, a safe alternative to door to door trick or treating. Each car trunk will be decorated with a different theme to encourage child interaction and activity in exchange for candy. This is a free event. Chili and hot chocolate will be provided. This is a kid’s outreach ministry and is located at Today’s Upperoom parking lot at 3211 Wiley Drive in North Myrtle Beach. NMB Rescue Squad Fish Fry & Barbecue Fundraiser
The North Myrtle Beach Rescue Squad invites everyone to attend the 56th annual Fish Fry & Barbecue Fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Ocean Drive Elementary School. It is located on 11th Avenue North in North Myrtle Beach. All you can eat is $10. Take out is available.

School hosts parent university
Riverside Elementary School at 1283 Hwy. 57 S. in Little River will host a Parent University from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, with speakers and special guests. This is an event meant to help parents learn, share and answer questions about issues that face children today. Dinner, door prizes and childcare is provided. Call 399-8800 for more information.

Annual Doggies & Divas Fashion Show
The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach is partnering with Elegantz, Inc., to produce the 3rd Annual Doggies & Divas Fashion Show on Thursday, Oct. 16. The event will be held at The Spanish Galleon in North Myrtle Beach beginning at 5:30 p.m. In addition to the fashion show, there will be a silent auction, an opportunity for guests to vote for their favorite Diva, heavy hors d’oeurves, local artists and vendors, live painting by Heather Gillmer during the show and entertainment by the Party Favor Band and singer/guitarist Tyler McKaig. Each model will be escorted on the runway by dogs from The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Long Bay Symphony Guild Fashion Show
The Long Bay Symphony Guild presents A Symphony of Fashion, a lovely outing for you and your friends, on Saturday, Oct. 25,  at  11 a.m. at the Surf Golf & Beach Club at 1701 Springland Lane, North Myrtle Beach. Fall fashions are by Belk. You will enjoy a delectable lunch, silent auctions, raffles and music by members of the Long Bay Symphony Youth Orchestra. NMB Citizens Association meeting
The North Myrtle Beach Citizens Association will meet on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the J Bryan Floyd Community Center on Possum Trot Road. Discussion will be on the upcoming important elections and the future of the NMB Citizens Association.

Breast cancer lunch and learn
McLeod Loris Seacoast Hospital will hold a breast cancer lunch and learn on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 12 noon at McLeod Seacoast Auxiliary Room, Suite 265 in Little River. Dr. Amanda Turbeville of McLeod Loris Seacoast Surgery will discuss the causes, risk factors, prevention and treatment options of breast cancer. This presentation is open to anyone who has been affected by breast cancer and would like to learn more about the disease. A light lunch and refreshments will be served. American Legion Post 186 yard sale

Join Ocean Curls Salon for their 1st Annual Cut for a Cure where 100 percent of the proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness.
