ALDI opens with huge crowd

Last Thursday morning at approximately 8:30 a.m. ALDI Food Store held its grand opening in the Surfwood Shopping Center of North Myrtle Beach.
There were hundreds of customers standing in line for the official ribbon cutting. The long line of potential customers started forming at 4:30 a.m. and ran down and in front of part of Lowe’s store. ALDI employees had to control the number of customers entering the store due to the store’s occupancy limit. The long line finally disappeared around 11:30 a.m.
There were quite a few ALDI representatives on site to assist those customers in need of assistance. City officials in attendance at the grand opening were Councilwoman Nicole Fontana, Councilman Bob Cavanaugh and Councilman Fred Coyne.
In speaking to some of the first customers early Thursday morning, they expressed very high praise for ALDI coming to North Myrtle Beach. The management and staff of the store are glad to be open and they invite you to come by and meet them at your new ALDI Food Store.
