Posted on Jun 22, 2017

Several students applied for Palmetto Girls and Boys State through their North Myrtle Beach High School. Everyone wrote an essay and had an interview with the American Legion Auxiliary and were selected to go from there. The boys went to Anderson University and the girls went to Presbyterian College June 11-17. On Friday, June 16, both the boys and girls met at the State House in Columbia for a parade. At Palmetto Boys and Girls State the students were placed in random groups called cities and built governments while making lifelong friendships.
