Bubba Collins announces Tuesday for re-election.

Bubba Collins has announced his plans to run for re-election to North Myrtle Beach City Council Ocean Drive District.

“I feel like we have made good progress over the last four years and I want to build on that work,” said Collins who was first elected to North Myrtle Beach City Council in 2021.

Collins said he would continue to focus on controlling growth in the city and improving our roads and infrastructure. “Our residents enjoy a high quality of life and I will work tirelessly to preserve that in the years ahead,” said Collins who has also become known for his efforts to ensure the city is able to keep taxes low through a conservative fiscal policy.

Bubba founded Bubba Collins Insurance in 1983 and has built a successful and trusted business in North Myrtle Beach over the past forty-two years.

Bubba Collins is a longtime resident and experienced community leader. He has served as Chairman of Economic Development and a Member of the North Myrtle Beach Planning and Zoning Commission; a Member of The Superintendent’s Business Council; Chairman of the NMB Chamber of Commerce; Member of The North Myrtle Beach Recreation Commission; McLeod Seacoast Fellow and as Vice President of the Myrtle Beach Optimist Club.

Collins has also served as a member of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina Small Group and Individual Advisory Council since 2002.

From Little League Football to Recreational Soccer and T-Ball, Bubba served as a popular coach for community sports since 1981. Bubba has been married to his wife Darlene for over forty-four years. They have four children and three grandchildren with one more on the way.

The filing period for office is in August with the election in November.
