On Sunday, Aug. 10, Kyle’s Cornhole Boards hosted one of their weekly cornhole tournaments.

Kyle Eshbaugh is the owner and score announcer for Kyle’s Cornhole Boards. He began playing in local cornhole tournaments at Castaways in October 2018. At the time they only played with 12 players. Since then, Eshbaugh has been an integral part in growing the community that can be found at the local tournaments today with a following of over one hundred players.

Scorekeeping is kept track with Scoreholio, an app that lets you create a profile to keep track of your playing. The app tracks your average so you are put into the right division for tournaments.

All tournaments are open to all ages and all skill levels. The tournament room is open for free during business hours for anyone who would like to practice before tournaments or is just looking to play a nice game of cornhole.

Every week, three cornhole tournaments are held with cash payouts. The payout depends on the number of players with the cost to enter ranging between $15 and $20. A venue fee of $5 is taken out per person to help keep the tournaments going.

Thursdays are double elimation tournaments with two brackets. A tailgate bracket for less experienced players and an advanced bracket for more experienced players.

On Fridays a round robin style tournament is held. This is the highest payout tournament and also the most competive night.

Sunday’s format alternates every few weeks.
