September 19, 2025, was the kick-off for a new year with “The Budding Ecotots”  in Kim Holloway’s kindergarten class at Ocean Drive Elementary School.

The Yaupon Garden Club Ecotot Committee was delighted to meet the new class of future Ecotots. Each child was presented an Ecotot T-Shirt to wear during the monthly meetings.

Mary Templeton introduced herself, as well as, the Yaupon Garden Club members present: Donna Belski, Margaret Graham, Bette Hurt, Joy Murray, Susan Platt and Belinda Roy. She introduced Mary Hager with the North Myrtle Beach Sea Turtle Patrol who presented a delightful and informative program about Sea Turtles.

Following the program, Mary Templeton provided a synopsis of the programs they will have each month during the school year.

The Yaupon Garden Club members helped distribute turtle erasers furnished by Bette Hurt and turtle stickers provided by Belinda Roy.

Everyone is looking forward to the next meeting of The Budding Ecotots on Friday, October 17, 2025.
