Knights dedicate flag for appreciation

By Pat Kastner

A Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus is a member of the highest and most honorary degree within the Knights of Columbus, known as the “Patriotic Degree”. Fourth Degree members organize patriotic programs and support community initiatives like those for veterans. The programs are designed to uphold Catholic christian values in communities and the nation.

The Knights of Columbus Assembly 2431 of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in North Myrtle dedicated a flag and flagpole to recognize those who have served the country throughout history. The Honor Guard was present as was Father John Zimmeron, Pastor of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, who prayed for all who served. It was only fitting that such an event took place as Veterans Day takes place next week.
