Andrea Coleman has been unofficially declared the winner of the runoff election for Loris City Council, having received 179 votes.
“I would like to express my gratitude to the residents of Loris for their trust in me to continue representing their voices, concerns and issues before the council for another four-year term,” said Coleman. “I want to thank my constituents for their belief in me and the collective strength we possess to improve Loris as a place to live, work and unite the community as a whole.”
She expressed her connection to the community and their aspirations for progress, responsible growth and the commitment that ‘we, the council, will prioritize the city as a whole’. She will persist in listening to the residents’ concerns, issues and suggestions to enhance Loris as a better and safer place to live. “I wholeheartedly support the first responders, the Loris Police Department, and Loris Fire Department,” she expressed. “Ensuring they have the necessary tools to continue safeguarding our citizens.” Having made Loris her hometown, her affection for the city and its ongoing progress remains strong, while preserving the small-town charm and allure.
Candice Grella received 99 votes. “This election was not about me,” she said. “It was abut our community. While I may not have won this election, I am thankful for those who did believe in me and my commitment to Loris has not wavered.”
She shared that she will continue to listen to residents and business owners to reach out to her if they would like a voice to help bring their concerns to light or if they have questions about current issues within the city limits of Loris. The official results of the runoff election conducted on Tuesday, November 18, will be revealed on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
