Bailey seeks re-election for SC House

Representative William Bailey has announced his plan to put in his bid for re-election for the South Carolina House of Represenatives, District 104.

On Tuesday, February 24, William Bailey announced that he will seek re-election to the South Carolina House of Representatives, District 104.

“It is a tremendous honor to serve this community in the South Carolina House,” Bailey said.

“I am proud to have helped pass meaningful legislation to help protect South Carolina’s taxpayers. At a time when other states have raised taxes we have reduced the state’s income tax, returned over a billion dollars in surplus funds directly to taxpayers and this year I am supporting efforts to increase the homestead exemption to reduce property taxes for homeowners,” he continued.

Bailey has earned a reputation for being personally available to residents and putting a focus on good constituent service. “During my time in office, I have worked tirelessly to promote policies that strengthen our communities, support our families and foster economic growth. From advocating for better education funding to ensuring our law enforcement and first responders have the resources they need, I have always put the needs of our community first,” Bailey said.

He continued, “As I seek re-election, my commitment to you remains steadfast. I am proud of what we have accomplished together, but there is still much work to be done. I invite you to join me on this journey as we continue to build a brighter future for South Carolina”.

Bailey noted that he would continue to work on important initiatives like improving local roads, judicial reform, safeguarding our elections, improving access to quality healthcare and lowering the cost of living for South Carolinians.

Filing for the election begins in March and Bailey said he plans an official campaign kick-off later this year. First elected to the House in 2018, Bailey is a retired law enforcement officer who previously served as the Public Safety Director for North Myrtle Beach.  William and his wife Karen live in Little River and have two adult children, Anne Marie and Christopher.
