Chiefs lacrosse and soccer match results

Four seniors from the varsity girls soccer team were honored before last week’s 3-0 win over Myrtle Beach at The Hank. Left to right are Sydney Carroll, Raphaella Nunes, Kaelyn Sanabria and Clara Cloninger.

NMB girls lacrosse —

The North Myrtle Beach High School girls lacrosse team won their only game of the week before spring break, beating Myrtle Beach 20-3. The Lady Chiefs had a long list of players contributing to that win at Myrtle Beach.

Leading the Chiefs in scoring in the game was Sydney McClannan with five goals and two assists. Lexi Schmidt got four goals and an assist. Oaklee Castle scored three goals and added three assists. Aryanna Kipybida scored twice and had one assist.

Six players scored one goal. Sara Mai also had three assists. Rylee added two assists as did Jasmine Watts. The other three players with one goal were Sadie Miller, Ava Patel and Lainee Smith.

Goalies Tori Currie and Tyra Green each had one save and allowed one goal.

The Lady Chiefs have one game this week, a home matchup with South Brunswick tomorrow night at 6 p.m. They play St. James away on April 13th.

Lady Chiefs soccer —

The NMB Lady Chiefs soccer team played one match before Easter, a 3-0 victory over Myrtle Beach last Tuesday night. The Chiefs celebrated senior night and then went out and enjoyed a region win over the Lady Seahawks.

The Chiefs scored two first half goals and added one more goal in the second half. Madison Thompson scored the first goal early in the first half and Macy Lockard added a goal later in the half for a 2-0 lead. Raphaella Nunes scored the second half goal. Clara Cloninger had seven saves in the net for the Chiefs in her shutout.

The Chiefs are not scheduled for another match until they visit Socastee on April 14th.

Chiefs soccer team —

The North Myrtle Beach High School varsity soccer team traveled to Myrtle Beach last Tuesday night for their first region game against the Seahawks but lost 5-1 to the first place region Myrtle Beach team.

The Seahawks controlled the first half by shutting out the Chiefs while scoring four goals. The Chiefs matched the Seahawks with a second half goal but lost 5-1. Cristiano Meono scored the Chiefs goal and Tomas Orroyo had 10 saves in the match.

The Chiefs had a home match scheduled on Tuesday against Gaffney at 6:30 p.m. in a non-region match. The Chiefs resume region matches on April 14th at Socastee.
