Closures and rescheduled events given

The record-breaking snowfall on Saturday, Jan. 31, and Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, led to significant closures in Loris.

Loris City Hall and administrative offices were closed on Monday, Feb. 2, and operated on a delayed schedule, opening at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026.

The City Council meeting originally scheduled for Monday, Feb. 2, has been moved to Monday, Feb.9, at 6 p.m.

Horry County Schools were closed on Monday and Tuesday, going to online learning.

Numerous businesses and stores were shut down on Monday because of hazardous driving conditions across Loris. On Tuesday, many of these establishments operated on a delayed timetable and closed earlier than usual.
