The North Myrtle Beach City Council held a City Council workshop on Monday, September 8, at 1:30 p.m. at the North Myrtle Beach City Hall.
During the workshop, city staff provided an overview of impervious and pervious surface definitions, with a focus on clarifying what qualifies as a pervious surface.
Discussion included the manufacturing and permitting processes for residents who may wish to install or replace pervious surfaces at their property.
Council also reviewed standards related to infiltration rates, specifically the proposed benchmark of two inches per hour.
If approved, these standards would apply only to single-family and duplex residential development.
