In an effort to provide additional value to our readers, we aim to keep you updated on the events taking place in Loris each week. This week, in celebration of Valentine’s Day, two local businesses are hosting events and inviting anyone interested to save the date along with news from the City Hall of Loris.
Wild Skye’s Creative Studio is hosting an adults-only Valentine’s Day Eve event called “Paint your Partner”. This fun and romantic two-hour date night will take place on Friday, February 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 4004 Railroad Avenue. During the event, couples will sit across from each other and paint a canvas that represents how they perceive their partner. Attendees will enjoy charcuterie snacks and receive one hot tea or coffee each. Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages. The cost for this experience is $65 per couple. To register, call 843-756-0381. All necessary supplies will be provided.
Poppie’s Downtown Sweet Bar, Apparel and More warmly invites everyone to their Valentine’s Dance Party on Sunday, February 15, from 3 to 5 p.m. An entry fee of $1 per person will be collected at the door to help cover the expenses for a DJ and a dance floor where you can showcase your finest Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers dance moves. A variety of hot and cold Valentine-themed sweet treats will be available for purchase. Additionally, there will be a complimentary photo booth for capturing moments with friends and family. Feel free to dress in your finest Valentine’s attire or wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable. They recommend donning something in red and pink to celebrate the occasion.
All administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16, in observation of President’s Day.
Morning with the Mayor and City Administrator is scheduled for Thursday, February 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the conference room at City Hall. All are welcome to stop by with any questions, concerns, or simply to greet them. Guests may enter through the conference room door located on Walnut Street.
We invite any business, organization, or church planning a special event for holidays, significant occasions, anniversaries, or announcements to share this information with our readers. Send your event details to Kaye Collins at anniesdesigns@sccoast.net. Be sure to include your organization’s name and the event type in the subject line. The team at Loris Times will feature special events weekly. Since not everyone uses social media, we aim to keep you updated on exciting happenings in the Loris and Green Sea areas.
