Horry County Schools has been actively pursuing property for future educational and operational facilities throughout Horry County.
This academic year, the Board of Education has approved the acquisition of two properties.
The approval from Monday night included a mutually agreed purchase price with the seller of $162,000 per acre, totaling $5,958,360 for 36.78 acres located on Horseshoe Road in Little River. The plans for this property have not yet been established.
In August 2025, the Board also authorized the purchase of a 66.7-acre parcel situated off Enoch Road in the upper Conway-lower Aynor region for approximately $1.4 million. The plans for this property have not yet been finalized.
