Howle is speaker at meeting

 

Linda Howle was the guest speaker for the Loris Garden Club during their April 1, 2026, meeting. She gave a thorough presentation on beginning floral design.

The Loris Garden Club met on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. at 4 p.m. at the Mishoe Stoudenmire Building in Loris. President Gloria Kinney welcomed all members and guests. Treasurer Wanda Cox gave the invocation. Delicious refreshments were served by Janice Long. Vice President David Stoudenmire introduced the club’s guest speaker, Linda Howle, Master Designer and Nationally Accredited Judge of Darlington, S.C., and former GCSC President. The theme was Creativity in Floral Design. Ms. Howle gave a thorough presentation on “Beginning your Floral Design with the Basics and Visualize and Create Your Arrangement.” She created several displays using fresh flowers and different containers. David Stoudenmire thanked her for her lovely demonstration on floral design.

President Gloria Kinney called the meeting to order and led the group in the club collect, the pledge of allegiance to the American Flag and reciting the GCSC Pledge of Allegiance. Linda Morrison, secretary, did the roll call and read the minutes from the March meeting. Wanda Cox, treasurer, read the financial report.

Dorothy Richardson shared with the group a list of numerous awards which the Loris Garden Club received at the Coastal District Garden Club meeting.

Linda Morrison reviewed information on the picnic and plant exchange to be held on Wednesday, May 6, at the Presbyterian Church in Loris.

President Glori Kinney reminded members of the upcoming GCSC meeting on Thursday, April 23, at Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, S.C. Jance Long talked about her arrangement, ”Many Blooms”, where she displayed several flowers from her garden.

Gloria Kinney led the group in reciting the Club Benediction and adjourned the meeting.
