NMB Ladies volleyball runs record to 11-0

The NMB High School Lady Chiefs continued their winning ways last week as they beat Conway and Socastee in region play before dispatching three teams last Saturday in a three-team bout for an 11-0 record so far this season.

The Chiefs began their successful week with a home win last Tuesday against Conway. The Chiefs won that one 3-0, (25-12, 25-14, 25-16). Lilly Loeswick and Clara Cloninger had 23 kills between them in the match.

Four Chiefs contributed to the team total in digs. Loeswick had 15 digs, Katlyn Powers had 14 digs, Harlow Horton had 11 and Cloninger 9 digs. Mikayla Altena notched 27 assists for the Chiefs offense.

Last Thursday the Chefs traveled to Socastee for another region match with the Lady Braves.  They also won this one 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-16).

Loeswick had 12 kills and Cloninger 8 kills in the match. Cloninger also topped the team with 19 digs and Powers had 13 digs. Altena had 22 assists for the Chiefs. The team also had 9 aces in the match.

Last Saturday the Chiefs went south for a three-team match. They began the day with a 2-1 win over Bishop England (23-25, 25-7,25-15). They followed that up with a 2-0 win over Porte- Gaud (25-20, 25-12).

Their third win of the day came against Wando. They beat them 2-0 (25-15, 25-20). Cloninger had 11 kills and Loeswick 9 kills in the match. Loeswick also had 14 digs, Powers 10 and Cloninger 9 digs. Altena led the Chiefs with 24 assists.

This week’s region play began with a home match against Carolina Forest on Tuesday and another home match tonight against St. James.
