Recreation department football season begins

By Kaye Collins

The Loris Recreation Department’s football practices are currently in full swing and we are thrilled about the new talent joining us this year. The children are putting in a lot of effort and enjoying themselves, and we are particularly thankful for the committed parents who have volunteered their time to coach our teams.

The recreation department hosted the Top Gun All-American All-Star Games over the Labor Day weekend, which was a three-day tournament with an outstanding turnout. Thousands of players and families from all over the East Coast came to compete, and throughout the event, we welcomed nearly 5,000 new visitors to our welcoming city.

A meeting was held with other recreation departments in our region and created an action-packed game schedule for our football season. We are looking forward to what lies ahead and are hopeful that the community will come out to support our kids as they pursue their passion. Attached, you will find the complete game schedule.
