Vendors sponsor crafts festival at local museum

The Columbiettes of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church brought a new concept to the area. They sponsored an arts and crafts festival on Saturday, June 7, at the North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum with vendors who have a cognitive or sensory disability. This means that anyone who was diagnosed with autism, Down Syndrome, intellectual impairment, is visually or auditorily disabled were invited to sell their wares at this festival.

Greeting cards, jewelry, bakery, watercolor, acrylic and other art works, craft figures made from wood, metal or paper were for sale. All proceeds from the sale went to the seller. They were not charged any fees. Jeremy Williams, Megan Marrero and Luke Ward displayed items before the sale they made for the festival, which was open to the public. Another festival is planned for December 6.
