City council results given

The North Myrtle Beach City Council met in a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, April 6, at 6 p.m. at North Myrtle Beach City Hall.

There were three items on the Consent portion of the agenda:

A. RESOLUTION: Memorandum of Understanding between the City of North Myrtle Beach Police Department and the Horry County Sherriff’s Office (APPROVED).

B. RESOLUTION: Reappoint Dean Mureddu as the North Myrtle Beach Municipal Judge for a two (2) year term (APPROVED).

C. MOTION TO APPOINT: Two appointments and two reappointments to the Accommodations Tax Committee (APPROVED).

There were four items on the Unfinished Business agenda:

A. ORDINANCE/SECOND READING: Petition for Annexation and Zoning Designation for ±64.46 acres on South Carolina Highway 90 (APPROVED).

B. ORDINANCE/SECOND READING: Development Agreement for Champions Boulevard Commercial and to authorize the City Manager to sign the document on behalf of the City (APPROVED).

C. ORDINANCE/SECOND READING: Amendments to Chapter 2, Administration, of the Code of Ordinances of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, codifying the Construction Board of Appeals (APPROVED).

D. ORDINANCE/SECOND READING: Amendments to Chapter 21, Stopping, Standing, and Parking, of the Code of Ordinances of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, regarding parking (APPROVED).

There were eight items on the New Business agenda:

A. RESOLUTION: Regarding the terms for Planning Commission members (APPROVED).

B. MOTION TO APPOINT: One appointment to the Board of Zoning Appeals (APPROVED).

C. RESOLUTION: Regarding the terms for the Board of Zoning Appeals members (APPROVED).

D. MOTION TO APPOINT: One reappointment to the Planning Commission (APPROVED).

E. MOTION TO APPOINT: One appointment to the Tree Board (APPROVED).

F. ORDINANCE/FIRST READING: Amendments to Chapter 11, Fire Prevention, of the Code of Ordinances of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, regarding open burning (POSTPONED).

G. ORDINANCE/FIRST READING: Amendments to Chapter 12, Health and Sanitation, of the Code of Ordinances of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, banning smoking on public beaches (APPROVED).

H. ORDINANCE/FIRST READING: Amendments to Chapter 6, Buildings; Construction; Related Activities, of the Code of Ordinances of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, revising the variance and appeal procedures of the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance to assign authority to the Construction Board of Appeals (APPROVED).
