The North Myrtle Beach High School varsity boys and girls soccer teams are closing out their regular season schedule this week after finishing most 6AAAAA region matches last week.

The boys team finished their region play last week with losses to the only teams that beat them this spring.

Last Tuesday the Chiefs traveled to St. James for their second meeting with the Sharks. The Chiefs finished the first half trailing 2-0 and finished the match losing 4-1. Cristhian Vasquez scored the Chiefs goal and Tomas Arroyo had seven saves.

Last Thursday Myrtle Beach visited The Hank for their second match with the Chiefs. It was senior night for two Chiefs players, Landon Smith and Aiden Trevino. The Seahawks led the Chiefs 2-0 at halftime, and the Chiefs narrowed the score to 2-1 in the second half before the Seahawks held on for the 2-1 win.

Vasquez also scored the Chiefs goal in the Myrtle Beach match with an assist by John Rodriguez. The Chiefs finished the region with a 6-4 record.

The Chiefs have two matches left this week, a match at Loris Wednesday and a home match today against Green Sea Floyds.

The Lady Chiefs had one match last week at home against St. James last Tuesday and lost 2-0. The match was scoreless at halftime, but the Lady Sharks offensive pressure was too much for the Chiefs in the second half as they scored both goals in the final 40 minutes. Clara Cloninger made 20 saves in that match.

The Lady Chiefs traveled to Myrtle Beach on Tuesday for a rematch with the Lady Seahawks. Their final regular season match was Wednesday against Loris at The Hank.
