Lions Clubs lead clean-up for Earth Week

By Carol Kurtz

With enthusiasm and a strong sense of purpose, the Lions Club of North Myrtle Beach brought together nearly 30 volunteers on Saturday, April 25, for a high-energy environmental clean-up at Heritage Shores Nature Preserve in North Myrtle Beach.

Members were joined by partners from the Kiwanis Club of North Myrtle Beach–Little River, Rotary Club of Little River (Noon and Sunset), and VFW Post 10804 and Auxiliary turning collaboration into meaningful action. Together, they cleared trails, protected waterways and enhanced the natural beauty of the preserve, leaving a lasting impression on both the landscape and community.

This collaborative effort, supported by Keep North Myrtle Beach Beautiful and North Myrtle Beach Parks and Grounds Initiatives, showcased the powerful results that come from working together with a shared purpose.

The project also answered a global call from Lions Club International, where the environment stands as one of eight key focus areas. Lions Clubs worldwide were encouraged to complete an environmental service project between Friday, April 17, and Sunday, April 26, and the Lions Club of North Myrtle Beach rose to the occasion.

Moments like this reflect the very best of community where service, partnership and pride come together to create something bigger than any one group could achieve alone.
