Annual Walk for Domestic Violence is set at complex

The GFWC North Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club is hosting their 5th Annual Walk for Domestic Violence Awareness, “What a Difference a Mile Makes”, on Saturday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex Amphitheater. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. with the walk starting at 11 a.m. Please join them for this meaningful fundraiser and informational event.

The event will include a variety of speakers, local dignitaries and survivor stories; music, local celebrities and a 1.1 mile walk around the lake. Again this year, they will have arts and crafts vendors for walkers shopping enjoyment. There will be childrens activities, food vendors, raffles and many informational tables. Seats will be provided for those who are unable to walk.

Tickets are $20 and will be available at the event, Destination North Myrtle Beach at 1521 Highway 17 South, Hope Taylor on Main Street and Purpleologist in Barefoot Landing. Children under 12 are free. Dogs are welcome.

Come walk with them and make a difference in someone’s life. “We walk to inform the public about this difficult issue and to give them the resources they need to help someone who is suffering. We walk to support the survivors. We walk to remember those who lost their lives to domestic violence.” said Kim Allen, chair of the walk.
