The North Myrtle Beach High School cross country varsity and JV teams got some valuable experience as they traveled to Florence, S.C., last Saturday for the Pee Dee Classic cross country races with over 20 teams competing.
The Lady Chiefs did not have their usual team competing since two of their starting five were attending a swim meet. Fenna Hollo won the girls varsity 5000 meter race with a time of 19:15.14, 34 seconds better than second place finisher Layla Holladay from Socastee High School.
Aleha Lang finished fifth in the girls race. Lucy Stalvey was nineteenth. Sydney Mcclannan was fifty-sixth and Lane Tuite was fifty-eighth.
In the boys varsity race, Chiefs Christopher Hardee was sixtieth. Jeremani Forant-Bernard was sixty-fourth and Parker Caugh was sixty-sixth.
The Chiefs had their final home race on Wednesday and celebrated seniors on the teams.
