“Each year, this walk becomes more than an event—it becomes a movement,” said Kathy Heagen, president of the North Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club. “We walk to uplift survivors, to remember those lost and to stand together against all forms of abuse.” We need your support to make this year the most successful yet—because together, we can truly make a difference.
The event will feature an arts and crafts festival with both local and regional vendors. There will be live music by special guests, Greg Rowles and Sunshine and Summertime with Deb Browning and Marlissa Small. Local DJ, Dan Summit with the OD Mafia and Greg Rowles will be our hosts. Local speakers, informational booths, activities for kids, food vendors and community resource partners will also be there. Attendees are encouraged to wear purple to show their support for domestic violence awareness. Chairs will be available for those unable to walk.
Tickets are $20 and are on sale at Hope Taylor and Company on Main Street, Destination North Myrtle Beach on Highway 17 South and Purpleologist in Barefoot Landing. Kids under 12 are free and dogs are welcome. Ticket holders will also receive 25 percent off their ticket price at Greg Rowles Theatre for the “Music and Memories” show on the evening of the walk, Saturday, October 18. Greg Rowles has graciously agreed to donate 10 percent of the proceeds from the show that night to the Domestic Violence Walk. Funds from the walk will directly benefit local programs and services that support victims of domestic violence, promote prevention education and provide advocacy throughout Horry County.
