Garden club members receive awards

The Loris Garden Club held its Annual Picnic and Plant Exchange in the picnic area of Loris Presbyterian Church at 4p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. President Gloria Kinney welcomed all members and guests. Treasurer Wanda Cox gave the invocation. Delicious refreshments were served by hostesses Jane Roberts, Linda Morrison and several members.

President Kinney called the meeting to order and led the group in the club collect, the Pledge Of Allegiance to the American Flag and the reciting of the GCSC Pledge of Allegiance. Linda Morrison, secretary, called the roll and read the minutes from the March meeting.  Wanda Cox, treasurer, gave the financial report.

Jane Roberts outlined plans for National Garden Week, which includes a full week of events from June 7-13.

President Kinney presented the following awards to members: Jo Gasque, State Life Membership, South Atlantic Region; Barbara Enzor, Life Membership; Martha Dorman, National Life Membership; and Amy Ditore, the Thelma B. Suggs Award. Perfect attendance awards went to Carl Claytor, Martha Dorman, Gloria Kinney and Amy Ditore.  A Bluebird House was presented to new members.

Linda Morrison presented her arrangement, “Precious Memories of Mothers,” adorned with roses from her garden. President Kinney thanked the hostesses and led the group in reciting the Club Benediction. The meeting was adjourned.
