Loris will host a send-off for the Loris High School Lions varsity football team with a community pep rally in The Yard on Main Street, beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 21. The LHS varsity football team, coaches, cheerleaders and the band will be present as well as all of the LHS sports teams.
The pre-season pep rally is usually conducted at Heniford football field, however, the school decided to relocate the event downtown in light of the successful Loris Lions Block Party held this past spring where the Loris Lions were honored for their achievements of the various sports teams during their successful seasons.
The first hour will be all party with live entertainment, inflatables for children, face painting and additional activities. Community members are encouraged to wear their blue and gold attire and to obtain takeout from any Loris restaurant to enjoy at tables that will be arranged in The Yard. Beginning at 7 p.m. the introduction of the LHS athletes and speeches by the coaches and administrators will bring cheers from the crowds.
