Members enjoy historical museum tour

By Mary Templeton : Yaupon Garden Club members took a step back in time during their January 7 meeting at the North Myrtle Beach area Historical Museum.

Cathy Altman, executive director, conducted an informative tour of the museum following a delicious luncheon provided by Phyllis Green, Belinda Roy, Barb Skeslien, Eileen Fox and Mary Templeton.

Club member, Dorothy Bambach, presented her beautiful calla lily and ivy floral design entitled “Serenity.”  Horticultural specimen brought by YGC members were described by Phyllis Green.  The business meeting, conducted by president Graceann Phillips, involved announcements, discussions of action items, committee reports and the treasurer’s report by Margaret Graham.  The roll call by Secretary Jeanette Lyon verified 23 members present and two guests.  Nancy Wolfe was voted into membership.  A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes of the November 2019 meeting. The minutes were approved.

Prior to adjournment, President Phillips thanked everyone for their continued dedication to the beautification, conservation and preservation of the natural resources of North Myrtle Beach and its surrounding areas.
