The City of North Myrtle Beach is encouraging residents and business owners to review and submit feedback on the draft Horry County Multi-Jurisdictional All-Hazards Mitigation Plan.
Every five years, Horry County updates its Hazard Mitigation Plan — a roadmap for reducing the impacts of disasters such as hurricanes, floods, wildfires and severe storms.
This update was developed by the Mitigation Task Force, with Horry County Emergency Management working alongside local and regional partners. The plan not only guides preparedness and risk-reduction efforts, but also helps keep Horry County eligible for federal disaster relief and grant funding to strengthen our communities.
We invite you to review the draft plan and share your feedback. A supplemental StoryMap is available to provide background on the update at https://www.horrycountysc.gov/departments/emergency-management/.
Public comments will be accepted through Saturday, August 30, 2025.
