Cru staff team on summer assignment in NMB

Jason and Kassidy Skjervem have been on staff with Cru in Minot, North Dakota, since 2005. They deeply enjoy that their summer assignment with this ministry is to spend every other year since 2015 as a part of the Cru staff team in North Myrtle Beach. They also count it as a huge joy that they get to bring their five kids on assignments like this. Little River Chamber to celebrate move

The Little River Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center will celebrate their moving to 440 Hwy. 90 E., Suite 1, in Little River with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Wednesday, June 19  from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the new chamber office. Beach access ramp is delayed

Previously, we posted that the city would construct temporary handicap ramps at the 8th Avenue North and 12th Avenue North street ends to replace the permanent structures removed to allow for expanded parking. There is a change of plans regarding construction of a temporary handicap ramp at the 8th Avenue North beach access. The city developed a variety of designs and, unfortunately, they resulted in less than two feet of clearance from the top of the dune to the bottom of the structure. Paid parking in public lot begins Friday

The paid parking season runs from June 15 through October. The parking fee is $2 per hour.

Installation of payment kiosks, signage and more has begun in public parking lots on either side of Ocean Boulevard in North Myrtle Beach. The paid parking season this year runs from June 15 through October. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The parking fee is $2 per hour. To pay to park, use the Passport Parking App, which works on iOS (Apple) and Android mobile phones. Download the App to your phone from the Apple or Google Play Store. The App is free. Mayor Hatley issues proclamation honoring Gardner

 On June 6, Mayor Marilyn Hatley issued a proclamation recognizing Leonard A. Gardner as a patriot, further proclaiming that it is an honor to have him as a citizen of North Myrtle Beach. On June 6, 1944 (D-Day), America was engaged in a world war against countries who sought to force their beliefs on the free democracies of the world. On that same day, Leonard Gardner, U.S. Army, shipped out to England and joined the 90th Division, then fought his way through Valognes and Montebourg to cut off the Nazis fleeing Cherbourg. The Entertainers perform tonight at Horseshoe

The public was invited to enjoy a free concert featuring The Entertainers on Thursday, June 13, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Horseshoe on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach.  Concert-goers can expect an incredible show of beach music. Woman’s Club awards scholarships to graduates

By Joyce Thomas “At its May meeting at the Surf Golf and Beach Club, the GFWC North Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club awarded five North Myrtle Beach High School graduates a total of $6,000 in scholarships to attend the school of their choice. The club’s scholarship committee received 20 applications from North Myrtle Beach High School students. Committee chair, Cheryl Watson, says, ”Receiving this many applications made it a difficult task for us and we spent hours and much discussion as the applications were excellent. Beachwood Golf Club named June Legacy Business of Month

The North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the Beachwood Golf Club has been named as the June 2019 Legacy Business of the month. Located in North Myrtle Beach at 1520 Highway 17 South, Beachwood was founded in 1967 and has been operating continuously since. The late Senator Dick Elliott and 18 other dedicated co-founders made the golf course what it is today. Construction was finished and the course opened for play in 1968.
