Volunteers have very successful food drive

Volunteers from North Myrtle Beach Lions and Little River Rotary organize to pick up donations. Others included students from Living Water Baptist, North Myrtle Beach High School and helper Susan Rogers.

Under the coordination of North Myrtle Beach Lions Club President and Little River Rotarian Sandy Boggs, a very successful food collection took place last week. Eleven hundred bags, generously donated by Food Lion, were distributed  to residents of Plantation Pines, Pine Needle Estate, Coquina Harbor, Heather Glenn and Colonial Charter communities.

A few days later the volunteers combed the neighborhoods for bags of non-perishable food items. The donations were delivered to several local church food banks including: Trinity United Methodist, Little River United Methodist, Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic, Living Water Baptist and North Myrtle Beach Vineyard Churches.
