The North Myrtle Beach Tree Board has designated a Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Cinerea) as the October Tree of the Month.
This evergreen, native to Australia, can be found on 14th Avenue South in North Myrtle Beach. Eucalyptus will grow in coastal South Carolina but needs to be protected during prolonged freezing temperatures. The aromatic leaves are a silvery-green, but the bark and leaves can be toxic to people and animals.
