Girls lacrosse 1-1 in region play

The North Myrtle Beach High School Lady Chiefs lacrosse team won two of three games last week while splitting region games with Carolina Forest and Myrtle Beach.

The Chiefs opened their week last Monday at Carolina Forest and lost 18-8. The Chiefs continued to make progress against the established teams they play as they build their program under coach Danielle Lowrimore.

Five different players scored in the game. Ava Patel led the Chiefs with three goals; Jasmine Watts netted two goals and the team’s leading scorer Aryanna Kipybida had a goal as did Oaklee Castle and Lexi Schmidt.

The Chiefs were home last Thursday for a senior night game against Myrtle Beach. The Chiefs won 21-1.  Sydney McClannan scored four goals, Oaklee Castle and Ava Patel each scored three goals. Sara Mai, Camden Cavallini, McKenna Daily, Tori Currie, Jasmine Watts and Lexi Schmidt each scored one goal.

Mai had 7 assists, McClannan three assists, with Cavallini, Daily, Currie, Watts and Ravenell all with one assist. Myrtle Beach only had two shots on goal.

The Chiefs ended the week at West Ashley and once again beat the Lady Wildcats, this time by a 21-2 score. Aryanna Kiybida scored 7 goals in the game. Lexi Schmidt scored five goals, and Sydney McClannan scored four goals. Ava Patel and Oaklee Castle each had two goals and an assist. Abby Denley scored a goal and Nadia Gore, Sara Mai and Schmidt had assists.

Tyree Green handled the net in defense for the Chiefs.

The Chiefs Monday game with St. James at home will be rescheduled due to weather.
