High school boys soccer team wins the Nash Tournament

The North Myrtle Beach High School varsity soccer team won the boys portion of the Michael B. Nash Soccer Tournament this past weekend at the city of North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex.

The Chiefs beat Carolina Forest 3-2, Conway 4-0 and then beat Socastee to win the championship.

The Lady Chiefs opened the tournament with a 7-0 win over Conway but lost to Socastee and St. James by identical 3-2 scores.

This year’s Nash tournament was the 27th annual event in honor of Michael B. Nash, a North Myrtle Beach soccer player who was tragically killed prior to his second year at the College of Charleston. It is an annual tune up for area high school teams, which this year included St. James, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, Conway, Carolina Forest and Socastee
