The North Myrtle Beach Rescue Squad held its annual Christmas Holiday Banquet and Awards Ceremony at The Bay Watch Resort on Friday, December 5.
The Rescue Squad is celebrating their 67th year of community service. Chief Gary Clark thanked the members for their many hours of dedicated service to the community. They are proud to have over 2,000 hours of volunteering teaching CPR/AED/BLS; Water Rescue and free Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulance Service. The Squad has grown significantly and is over 70 members strong.
Many awards were given out to members and community supporters. They are: Outstanding Service Award to the North Myrtle Beach Rescue Squad were presented to: Polly Lowman, editor and publisher of the North Myrtle Beach Times and Loris Times and Justin Nelson, owner of Gone Coastal North Golf Carts.
The following members received achievement awards for responding to over 100 calls: Allison McCarty, Greg Richardson and Mike Waugh. For over 250 calls: Chief Gary Clark, Daniel McGinnis and Captain Richard Sander. For over 500 calls: Mike Baker. For over 1,000 calls: Randy Gardner.
Special awards: EMS Call of the Year to Chief Gary Clark, Randy Gardner, Taylor LaMonica and Captain Richard Sander. Water Rescue Call of the Year to Mike Baker, Lance Barnes, Dennis Cassar, Chief Gary Clark, Randy Gardner, Larry Groelinger, Christian Lara, Ryan Sigsworth and Mike Waugh.
Lifetime Membership awards to: Pat Abner, Katie DeAngelo, John Foster, Randy Gardner, Mike Heiser, Christian Lara, Julie Phillips, Chris Price, Brooks Prince and John Wylie. Member of the Year went to Mike Waugh.
