Wrestling team sends five to individual state championships

The North Myrtle Beach High School wrestling team traveled to Bluffton for the 4A SC High School Individual wrestling competition last Friday and Saturday. After two long days of matches the Chiefs qualified five team members for the individual state finals to be held in Anderson on February 22 and 23. Chiefs wrestlers met counterparts from teams across the lower state. If they lost a match up to and including the semifinals, then they would go into the consolation bracket of the competition. If they did not lose again, they would finish in third place. Otherwise, winners would progress through …

Aberdeen Country Club is set to reopen on Saturday

Aberdeen Country Club, a Founders Group International course, will reopen for public play on Saturday, February 23. The 27-hole facility, which closed in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence to rebuild its clubhouse, is in immaculate condition with the Grand Strand’s peak spring season on the immediate horizon. The Loris High School (LHS) J.R.O.T.C. has had a busy February 2019 with the J.R.O.T.C. (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) cadets having their annual Winter Sweet Heart Ball on Saturday, Feb. 2.
