McLeod celebrated an open house and ribbon cutting for McLeod Seacoast Medical Park Building 2 on Thursday, Feb. 2. This additional medical office building on the McLeod Health Seacoast campus is located at 3793 McDowell Lane in Little River. Community members had the opportunity to tour the facility and meet the physicians and staff.

Five area schools started off 2023 with new stringed instruments for their students, compliments of local charity South by Southeast.

The GFWC North Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club will host its annual charity event, Purses with Purpose, this year on Thursday, April 13, at 5:30 p.m. in the Nautilus Ballroom at the Marina Inn Grande Dunes.

Vincent has played on the North Myrtle Beach High School varsity basketball team since she was in the eighth grade. Each year that she played, she progressed in her abilities and eventually became a point guard for the team. She, like most varsity players, had a goal of playing for and winning a state championship.

A Good Samaritan saved an injured great horned owl from the road at Barefoot Resort last weekend, with city first responders helping rescue the bird and provide medical care to its wounds.

The North Myrtle Beach boys varsity basketball team was 1-1 in two 6AAAA region games last week, winning a thriller last Tuesday 36-32, then losing 48-35 at West Florence last Friday night.

Area first responders are continuing to search for a local boater who has been missing since Thursday.

The garden club held their January meeting, where they discussed “Urban Planning” with guest speaker Brad Fowler.

The North Myrtle Beach Lady Chiefs had a tough week of 6AAAA region basketball as they lost to Wilson at home and then at West Florence Friday to fall to 3-4 in the region.
