Sea Mountain Highway beach access closed

The City of North Myrtle Beach wants to remind residents that the public beach access on the street-end of Sea Mountain Highway is closed for mobilization of beach renourishment machinery. Contractors for the United States Army Corps of Engineers are utilizing this as part of their mobilization efforts and movement of heavy machinery.

As you are walking on the beach, please pay attention to signs and large platforms in the beach access walkway that are tell-tale signs to not go further.

The city appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this important project to enhance shoreline resistance and protect our beaches.

Updates and additional information will be provided as work progresses.
