Post 186 donates to cancer treatment and research center

By Tom Keyrouze

On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, the American Legion Post 186 made a visit to the Cancer Treatment Center at Mcleod Health in Little River, S.C. Back in October the Carrie King Foundation coordinator visited their monthly meeting and did a presentation on behalf of Mcleod Health Foundation. That’s why they came to the decision to present the foundation with a check for $5,000 to support cancer treatment and research at McLeod Seacoast Hospital.

There will be two plaques there in memory of their past members and support for current members and their families.

Sons Commander Bill Cooper introduced all in attendance from the Squadron and American Legion Post 186.

Commander Cooper’s message to the foundation was that this is what the Squadron does as a program of the American Legion. By working together raising funds, they can support community organizations like Mcleod Health Foundation as well as assisting the local and national veteran organizations.
