The North Myrtle Beach High School girls and boys track teams won the Horry County Championships April 22nd at Myrtle Beach against eight other county schools.
Here are some of the best finishers for the Chiefs.
Jaden Chestnut won the 100 meter dash and was fifth in the 200 meter dash. Ny”Ray Hannah won the 400 meter dash. Jeremani Bernard was fifth in the 800 meter run. Wisely Dawson took fifth in the 1600 meter run.
Jerell Bellamy was first and Ny’Ray Hannah second in the 110 meter hurdles. Jerell Bellamy won the 400 meter hurdles with Hannah second and Braden Pagan fourth. The Chiefs 4×100 relay team beat Socastee by .32 seconds for first place. The Chiefs 4×400 relay team finished third and the 4×800 meter relay team was second in those two races.
Ny’Ray Hannah took second place in the triple jump and Norvion Finklea was fourth for the Chiefs.
Dylan Kempf easily won the pole vault with a five-meter jump.
In the girls competition Halle Morris was third in the 100 meter dash and fifth in the 200 meter dash. Fenna Hollo won the 800 meter dash. Hollo won the 1600 meter run by three seconds over Maryn Schubiger of St. James. Hollo won her third race of the meet in the 3200 meter run, with Robyn Walsh nine seconds back in fourth place.
Lady Chiefs Israfel Thomason was first in the 100 meter hurdles. Halle Morris won the 400 meter hurdles with Zoe Mandley third. The 4×100 meter relay team was third behind Carolina Forest and Loris. The 4×400 meter relay team was fifth and the 4×800 relay team was second behind St. James.
Tomason was fourth in the high jump. Brandi Gore took sixth in the long jump. Sophie Hayes was fourth and Alexandra Hines fifth in the pole vault.
Miya Clarke was the winner in the discus. Adrieanna Mackey was sixth. Robyn Walsh was second in the javelin. Khamani Owens was second in the shot put with Miya Clarke third.
