Chiefs fall sports results are given

Cross Country —

The NMB Chiefs boys and girls cross country teams gathered last Saturday morning to take on 11 other teams from around the area at the NMB Sports Complex in the Chief Invitational.

The girls team got their usual strong performance from Fenna Hollo who finished first in the 5K race with a time of 19:28.6, beating Kaylanna Burroughs of West Florence by six seconds.

The girls team ended up in fourth place with West Florence winning the girls race. Robyn Walsh finished fourth for the Lady chiefs and Aleha Lang came in seventh. The Chiefs boys team finished ninth in their race. The Chiefs teams had another race Wednesday at Carolina Forest

Girls Volleyball —

The Lady Chiefs have had a great start to their season so far, winning their home tournament and boasting a 6-0 record. The Chiefs will start region play on September 9th at home against Conway.

Boys Volleyball —

The boys volleyball team has also gotten off to a good start this season. They opened their season on August 25th at home with a 3-1 win over West Florence (25-22, 25-23, 11-25, 26-24.) The Chiefs won their second match on the 27th, beating South Florence 3-0 at home (25-9, 25-19, 25-16.)

The Chiefs travel to Conway on September for their first region match.

Girls Golf —

The Lady Chiefs golf team won a three-team match last week. The Chiefs beat Socastee (203} and Waccamaw (211) in their home match at Eagles Nest Golf Club. The Chiefs scored a low 175 for the victory and Storm Williams was the medalist for the Chiefs. She shot a 38.

Girls Tennis —

The Lady Chiefs tennis team won two matches last week. They beat Green Sea-Floyds 7-0 and took a match from Loris by a 4-3 score.
