Fundraiser held for local animal rescue

By James Pease II On Thursday, July 31, Bully’s Pub and Grill in Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach held “Raise Your Cups For The Pups” to help raise money for Kind Keeper Animal Rescue. The fundraiser was held from 12 noon until 3 p.m. and was sponsored by the Pepsi Company. Free zero sugar Pepsi was given out to guests who attended the meet up. A 50/50 raffle was also held and included prizes such as a new grill and pepsi merchandise. The animal rescue accepted donations for dog and puppy food, cat and kitten food, trash bags, paper …

Kentucky governor and candidate inspire locals to build community

North Myrtle Beach women, Ellen Holliman and Carol Stigger, had the pleasure of meeting Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and John Vincent, candidate for the 7th U.S. Congressional District, at the Thursday, July 17, reception and dinner sponsored by the Georgetown County Democratic Party. Local youth raises over $3,000 for animals at fundraiser

At just 13 years old, Stella Prince, a rising eighth grader, is already making a big impact in the North Myrtle Beach community. Habitat for Humanity to hold groundbreaking for new Longs ReStore location

The nonprofit organization already operates one ReStore in Myrtle Beach and will be breaking ground on their second location in the local area on Friday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. Staff from Habitat's ReStore organization board members will be on hand for the ceremony, as well as community members from the North Myrtle Beach area.

North Myrtle Beach approves beach activities ordinances, alterations to PDDs

During the nearly two-hour meeting held this Monday, Feb. 20, councilmembers unanimously passed several ordinances, including first reading of a few that go some ways to codifying a uniform policy for activities on the city’s nine-mile stretch of beach, both recreationally and commercially.
