On Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, friends and family gathered at the Horry County Council on Aging Community Center located at 1401 Heritage Road in Loris to celebrate Mrs. Sallie Kapps 104th birthday.

The GFWC North Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club will host its annual charity event, Purses with Purpose, this year on Thursday, April 13, at 5:30 p.m. in the Nautilus Ballroom at the Marina Inn Grande Dunes.

Vincent has played on the North Myrtle Beach High School varsity basketball team since she was in the eighth grade. Each year that she played, she progressed in her abilities and eventually became a point guard for the team. She, like most varsity players, had a goal of playing for and winning a state championship.

A Good Samaritan saved an injured great horned owl from the road at Barefoot Resort last weekend, with city first responders helping rescue the bird and provide medical care to its wounds.

Construction has been in progress for two years behind paper backed windows of multiple buildings on Main Street in Loris. Complete renovations, which include complete demolition from floors to roofs, will become the Dalton Picture Studio facilities.
