Partnership leaders dedicate new city trail

The perfect mix of local collaborators succeeded in a project designed to “Remember, Educate and Celebrate”. The Yaupon Garden Club, North Myrtle Beach Parks and Rec Department, North Myrtle Beach Tree Board, South Carolina Native Plant Society and North Myrtle Beach Historic Preservation Society were all represented on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Arbor Day celebration and dedication. The impetus for this event was begun by Yaupon Garden Club members Phyllis Green and Phillis Newman, residents of the Belle Park neighborhood who often met to walk the nearby trail surrounding a stormwater drainage pond. Driftwood Garden Club celebrates with tree planting

Celebrating with Driftwood were members of the North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Director Matt Gibbons, Jim Grainger, Jarrett Lewis, Bernie Lowe, Kaitlyn Nimmons and Gianna Forbis, Multimedia Coordinator. Jill Roman presented the History of Arbor Day highlighting Driftwood’s participation. Ecotots celebrate Arbor Day

The ladies from the Yaupon Garden Club came to tell them all about Arbor Day. Mary Templeton discussed the origin of Arbor Day and how important trees are to our environment. City swears in new mayor and council

Baldwin, along with newly elected and re-elected Council Members Trey Skidmore, Bubba Collins and Jeri McCumbee, took their oath of office for the City of North Myrtle Beach. This oath is a legally binding promise made by all public officials before they take their seat as mayor or on city council, affirming their commitment to uphold the law and faithfully serve our community. Regatta lights up waterway

By John Smithson The 41st Intracoastal Christmas Regatta, like those before it, did not disappoint the thousands of spectators who lined the Intracoastal Waterway last Saturday evening. It was a clear and cold evening for viewing a parade of spectacular-colored lights and creative designs on boats from 24 to 55 feet in length. The Regatta began its waterway journey at Little River Inlet and ended at the Dock Holidays Marina. Family donates to emergency service organizations

Annual tour of homes is this Friday

Aquatic center raises money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Throughout the month of October, the North Myrtle Beach Aquatic and Fitness Center raised money through multiple Breast Cancer Awareness events for Caring In Our Lifetime.
