The North Myrtle Beach High School wrestling team beat Conway 47-35 last Wednesday on senior night at the school’s gym.

The Chiefs six seniors were introduced and honored prior to the start of individual competition; Conway then took a 6-12 and 11-24 lead before the Chiefs fought back. The Chiefs won two matches to trail 23-24, then were behind 23-29 before tying the score on a pin at 29-29.

The Chiefs fell behind 29-35, but then won on a pin, scored on a Conway forfeit, and Tanner Morrison’s pin completed the comeback with the Chiefs celebrating a 47-35 region victory.

Besides senior Morrison’s win, three other seniors competing that night also won their match. Cole Woody, Jake Iannone, and Levi Wheeler all beat their opponents with a six-point pin.

The Chiefs were scheduled to compete at the Boneyard Bash last Friday at Jack Britt High School and were back home Wednesday to take on Myrtle Beach in another region match.
