Jean M. Wirth, 84,  of North Myrtle Beach passed away on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, at McLeod Seacoast Hospital in Little River, SC. Born on May 31, 1935, in Scranton, P.A., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen Shushura Wallace. Surviving are her loving husband of 63 years, Donald Wirth; son, Mark Wirth; daughter, Nancy Gilliland; and canine companion, Josh.  Mrs. Wirth was preceded in death by her son, Carl Wirth, and daughter, Ann Asberger. James Blakeney Jackson Jr., of North Myrtle Beach, 82, died on Monday, February 3, 2020, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. Services are scheduled for Saturday, February 8, at 11 a.m. at Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church in North Myrtle Beach. Burial will be in Southern Palms Memorial Gardens in North Myrtle Beach. Gerald S. Hildebrand, 89, of Little River died on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020, at his home. Born on May 23, 1930, in Dallastown, Pa., he was the son of the late Sterling and Margaret Williams Hildebrand. Mr. Hildebrand served his country proudly in the United States Army 25th Infantry Division for 28 years.  He was a member of American Legion Post 186, a Life Member of VFW Post 10804, and a member of Masonic Lodge 649 in Pennsylvania and Lodge 392 in South Carolina for 62 years. The North Myrtle Beach Lady Chiefs lost their second region game to Wilson at home last Tuesday before bouncing back with a win at Hartsville on Friday. The Chiefs did the opposite, winning a close one over Wilson, then losing in the last seconds at Hartsville. The North Myrtle Beach High School wrestling team continued their winning ways last week as they beat Conway 45-22 on Monday at home and then took care of West Brunswick 42-35 and New Hanover 65-18 in a visit to Shallotte on Wednesday. The Chiefs win over Conway began at the 126-pound weight class as Naszeir Bellamy won by forfeit and a 6-0 score. After several months gathering information and preparing their poster boards, the students at Current Transitions conducted a Safety Fair to communicate what they had learned to parents, staff and members of the community. The students selected very diverse topics including fire safety, internet safety, video game safety, food safety, sports injuries and antidepressant-meds.com safety.
