Ronald “Bubba” Whetstone, 75, of Loris passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019. Mr. Whetstone was born in Charlotte, N.C., a son of the late Charles C. and Eva B. Whetstone.  He was a member and Sunday School teacher at Liberty Baptist Church.  Mr. Whetstone was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was a volunteer at Agape in Conway and retired from K & W Cafeteria after 25 years of service.  Mr. Whetstone loved reading his Bible.  He was predeceased by one daughter, Lynn Whetstone; three brothers, Laddie Whetstone, Charles Whetstone and Jimmy Whetstone; and one …

John R. Cunningham Jr. of Tabor City, N.C., went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 26, 2019. Mr. John was born in Altoona, Pa., a son of the late John R. Cunningham Sr. and the late Grace Cunningham. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. He worked with Ward Trucking Corporation for 29 years as a supervisor and retired as a maintenance supervisor with DTH Management. Joanna Kenney Causey, 52, of Conway passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019, at her home following a sudden illness. Born on Feb. 27, 1967, in Front Royal, Va., she was the daughter of Mary Jenkins Kenney of Conway and the late Carroll Willington Kenney. Mrs. Causey was a loving homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. Jerry Wayne Cox of Longs was born to Fannie Virginia Prince and Dayton Paul Cox of Longs on Feb. 8, 1954. He passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019, after a short illness at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Jerry attended Loris High School, graduating in 1972. He then attended Francis Marion University, graduating with a degree in business administration in 1976. After graduation, Jerry went to work at Talon Industries in Loris, where he met Christine Crudo from Meadville, Pa. They married in October 1983. Edwin Benjamin Boyd, 56, of Loris passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019, at McLeod Loris Hospital. He was born on Feb. 1, 1963, in Loris to the late Cecil Earl Boyd and the late Carol June Strickland Boyd. He served his country with courage and honor in the United States Army National Guard for over 20 years. Edwin was a devoted family man who loved his wife, son, daughter and grandchildren very much. Danny Mitchel Wright, 70,  of Florence passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Florence Commander Nursing Facility. He was born on Jan. 26, 1949, in Loris to the late Jesse Clifton Wright and the late Thelma Hazel Jernigan Wright. Mr. Wright was a special needs adult who lived in Shallotte Group Home in Shallotte, N.C., for 20 years prior to moving to Florence. His sister moved him to be closer to his family. Amanda “Jane” Russell Flynn, 71, of Little River passed away peacefully in her home early Monday, July 29, 2019. Loris High School Football Head Coach Jamie Snyder along with the other coaches, Brandon Day, Lang Kenlaw, Josh Stevenson, Andre White, Julius Graham, Casey Davis, Michael Buffkin and A.
