John W. Player, Sr., 88, formerly of North Myrtle Beach, SC, died April 5, 2019 at Westminster Towers, Rock Hill, SC. Mr. Player was a member of Living Water Baptist Church and Grand Strand Masonic Lodge #392 in North Myrtle Beach. Survivors include two sons, Michael V. Player and John W. Player, Jr.; daughter, Barbara Ann Deal; sister, Wilma Hendricks; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  He is predeceased by his wife, Eleanor S. Nature trail is open at park

The new 2.5-mile McLeod Health Seacoast Nature Trail at the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex is open for your enjoyment. A ribbon cutting ceremony held on Tuesday, April 16, officially opened the trail. The trail features native vegetation and interesting wildlife. KAB Kids Junior Garden Club Winners at State Youth Symposium

Monday at the Masters tournament attracts big names

Who would believe what began with a few friends in Columbia would have grown into an annual event that attracts a lot of big names in sports and entertainment? This year‘s event was the 25th celebrity Pro-Am golf tournament. Since 1994 when it all began it has changed the venue several times until they came to North Myrtle Beach. Hootie and the Blowfish, Monday after the Masters is a fundraiser for several charities.
