Parks and Recreation introduces ArtVentures

The North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce ArtVentures, a new quarterly day-trip program designed for adults who want to explore the vibrant world of art and craftsmanship across the Carolinas. With ArtVentures, participants do more than admire art — they create it, returning home with new skills and one-of-a-kind pieces made by hand.

The first ArtVentures experience of 2026, The Art of the Pour, will take place on Thursday, February 12, 2026, with a creative day trip to Wilmington, North Carolina. Cost is $90 per person.

During this instructor-led workshop at Pinspiration Studio Wilmington, participants will learn the art of acrylic pouring on a wood surface, creating a charcuterie-style board on risers. At registration, participants may choose either a round or heart-shaped board (approximately 9 inches). All supplies are included.

The day begins with free time at Mayfaire Town Center, where participants can enjoy lunch on their own and browse shops before heading to the art studio. The guided class begins at 1 p.m. and lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Finished projects will remain at the studio to dry and be food-safe prepped. Parks and Recreation staff will retrieve the completed pieces within the week and coordinate a pickup date at the community center.
