Congratulations to the Thursday, April 16, Sing It! Loris winners, Lora Harper and Tabatha Tullis!
The Loris Chamber of Commerce held the event at the State Theatre on Main Street in Loris, at 6 p.m.
Each contestant was allowed one song entry to compete with.
Lora Harper sang “At Last” by Etta James, and Tabatha Tullis sang “Independence Day” by Martina McBride.
Each of them received a prize package from the Chamber of Loris and two gift cards from the event sponsor, Bravo Entertainment LLC.
“Usually the only big thing every year in Loris is the Bog Off, so we wanted to start something new,” said John Blevins with the Loris Chamber of Commerce.
“This event helps promote different restaurants and businesses in Loris. It also brings people who really want to sing and want to get their voice out there.”
Sing It! Loris, previously called the Loris Cluck-Off Singing Competition, will be a monthly competition held up until September where finalists will compete for the grand prize.
The first place winner will win $700 and a spot on the Loris Bog Off main stage.
The next round will be held on Thursday, May 21, and registration will open on Friday, May 1, at www.lorischamber.com.
