Chiefs open football season with win over powerhouse Tigers The North Myrtle Beach High School varsity football team opened the 2019 regular season in spectacular fashion last Friday night, defeating the Conway Tigers for the second year in a row. NMB Volleyball, other fall sports teams getting underway at school The North Myrtle Beach girl’s volleyball team finished second in last weekend’s preseason tournament at North Myrtle Beach, before this week’s opener. The Lady Chiefs won three of five matches in the tournament. The Green Sea Floyds High School varsity football team traveled to West Columbus High School in Cerro Gordo, N.C., to take on the Vikings this past Friday night. Virginia Lee Harlan Myers of Loris passed away on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, at the age of 74. “Jenny” was born on March 25, 1945, in Clifton City, Mo., to Ollie L. Harlan and Mable Mae Todd Harlan. Paul M. Prince, 77, of Loris passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019, at his home following an illness. He was born on Sept. 30, 1941, in Loris, to the late Rufus Prince and the late Lula Gracie Wade Prince.
